Plans remain on track for auction of farmland in Hendry and Collier Counties

NAPLES, FLORIDA (August 26, 2015) -- Plans remain on track and are proceeding as scheduled for the September 17 auction of Immokalee Farm in Hendry and Collier counties, according to Murray Wise Associates LLC, which will conduct the auction in cooperation with Crosby & Associates, Inc. April 15, 2015

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (April 15, 2015) – Tuesday’s auction of a farm that included 196 acres of tillable farmland attracted a crowd of more than 50 people – including 22 registered bidders – resulting in a sale price of $2,091,000, or $10,668 per acre, for the tillable land. Champaign-based Murray Wise Associates marketed the property and managed the auction.

"Different kind of market" ahead for farmland

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois (Dec. 19, 2014) -- When it comes to farmland prices, the only certain thing about 2015 is that it will be unlike any year we've seen in a while, according to farmland authority Murray Wise, president of Murray Wise Associates.

"This year has been one of transition, with prices varying widely depending on land quality and location. The market has been rewarding the more productive land, but buyers have been less enthusiastic about lower quality land in poorer areas. As to the overall direction, I think we'll start to get more clarity in the coming months, especially in the Corn Belt," said Wise.
